Aside from Vlad’s seminars and other masters of Systema. . . . the best
And aside from Dan Harden’s brilliant Internal Martial arts seminar. . . . .
And aside from Peter Carbone Sensei’s priceless teaching. . . . .
Yes, there are a lot of seminars to choose from but there are very, very few that rank in the “CAN’T MISS” category. The above 3 most certainly qualify. The next upcoming 2 fit in the same rarified air as well.
Guru Eddie Quinn of the U.K. created a style called “The Approach” which is a combination of Silat, Muay Thai and other arts from the Pacific Rim area. It is powerful, fluid and incredibly powerful. It is an absolutely brilliant art. Aside from the art, Eddie is one of the most talented and skilled teachers and fighters I have ever come across in 28 years of martial arts. His high energy and passion for teaching shine through light a bright sun. My first experience training is still one of the best I have ever had.
This is NOT to be missed.
Side note: It is a perfect blend with Systema. In fact, there is a great deal of overlap.
Secondly, we set up a Kubotan Training in Tampa with martial arts master Mike Griffin. The kubotan is a small, pipe-like weapon better known as the “key chain” weapon. It utilizes one’s car keys, along with the 6 inch Kubotan. I have not trained in this weapon in over 20 years and look forward to (re-) learning and adding new information. The movements are also fluid and continual, and fits like a glove into Systema.
These are the types of seminars that add greatly to our art and to martial arts in general.
So looking forward to them!
